19.2.05 Linby CW 2-1 Sandhurst (NSL Senior Division)

After taking a hammering early on in the season it was third from top playing third from bottom and an overall picture of the game Sandhurst deserved a point. After 15mins Smith should of put the visitors in front when from 8yds out with the goal at his mercy fluffed his shot wide, within 5 mins the home side were in front a corner from the left by Rose was met by A.Start who headed into the corner unchallenged. On 35mins Sandhurst  drew level, with one of the best moves of the game, when man of the match Annable squared to Smith who sent a 30yd inch perfect ball to Wilson on the right who got to the bye line and crossed it with Hurley diving in at the far post with the goalkeeper beaten by the cross heading into an empty net. After just getting back into the game on 36mins Sandhurst found themselves behind again which ended up being the winning goal,a miss hit shot on the edge of the box deflected in to the path of Ingram who from 5yds out side footed into the goal.In the second half Sandhurst had most of the possession but never really made any clear cut chances, with Annable's free kick on 70mins well saved by Sibey in goal Huddart,Bellis and Cresswell were all sent on in the last quarter but Linby held out for the win.(Stef Hall Sandhurst)

12.2.05 Sandhurst 0-4 Kimberley MW (NSL Senior Division)

No excuses with 5 regulars out due to injury or suspensions, Sandhurst were out played by a well organised side and were a goal down after 18mins, good work from Antcliffe on the right as he sent in a low cross Wright side footed it in from 6yds. On the half hour Kimberley made it 2-0, Smith from 40yds out crossed from the right, has Sampford came out of his goal the cross dropped over him and into the net.

The second half was the same as the first with man of the match Antcliffe running the show and he was rewarded on 55mins when curling in from the edge of the box into the bottom right corner. Sandhurst had 2 good chances in the last quarter with Hurley going close with both putting his shot into the side netting and heading over from 6yds out, but with 10mins left Antcliffe scored again side footing in from close range. The only good encouraging signs for Sandhurst were the endless effort from Hurley up front and Messner at the back.

Next Week Sandhurst are at Linby 2.30pm Kick Off (Stef Hall Sandhurst)

5.2.05 Sandhurst 1-1 Clifton (NSL Senior Division)

A well deserved point for sandhurst who could of taken all three points yet again, as in the last quarter of the game finished the stronger. With Atkinson, Mason and Solomon all missing the game it was a chance for the younger players to perform, as early as 5mins Sampford in the home goal tipped over from Butler from 8yds out. The visitors did not have to wait long and were one nil up on 14mins when Mitchell cut in from the right his shot was brilliantly saved by Sampford but it rolled out to Hartshorne who tapped it in. The home side squandered a lot of chances, Wilson on the half hour shooting wide of the target when through on goal, and just before the break, Jones found Annable on the edge of the box who shot straight into the keepers arms.Clifton started the better of the two sides in the second half, but Messner,Lobley and Jones were very solid at the back making Sampford merely a spectator in goal. With Annable in excellent form driving the midfield it was only a matter of time before Sandhurst were level, on 69mins Annable squared the ball to Messner whose long ball put Wilson through, he rounded the keeper and tapped it in an empty net.5mins later Wilson was on is way again only to be brought down by Littlewood, resulting in Wilson being carried off and Littlewood going in the book.Smalley came on to replace Wilson, with 10mins to go Munson's header from 3yds out was cleared on the line and in the dying mins Smith thought he had won it for Sandhurst with a spectacular volley from the edge of the box being tipped over.

29.1.05 Clifton 2-2 Sandhurst (NSL Senior Division)

A goal in the 6th minute of added time stopped Sandhurst from taking all the points, it was an exceptional team performances and it would be unfair just to pick out certain individuals. But it the home side that nearly took the lead on 14mins when a shot from the edge of the box by Mitchell was parried onto the post by stand in keeper Sampford. 2mins later he could only stand and watch as Lobley had to deal with a wicked cross from the right by Bee to see his header skim the cross bar.On 26mins the visitors took the lead, Solomon released the ball to Mason inside the box who turned his man, he sent in a low cross from the left and from 10yds out Wilson was the quickest to react smashing it in to the top left corner. On 32mins Mason playing up front for the injured Atkinson nearly made it 2-0, he sent a fierce shot from just inside the box which Kirk in Clifton's goal did brilliantly finger tipping it over the bar, frustration was creeping in for the home side and were glad to here the half time whistle to reorganise there side.

Has the second half began Sampford was the busiest of the two keepers, pulling off saves from Butler and Bee, on the hour a free kick for Sandhurst was knocked in by Jones and as Annable rose he was pushed by Taylor, resulting in a penalty. The visitors had to wait as the home side crowded the referee, after the delay Mason stepped up missing the target completely. On 77mins Munson replaced P.Messner with in a minute Sampford pulled off a brilliant one handed save from the impressive Andy Bee, but on 88mins Sandhurst could not believe it when Clifton were awarded a penalty, a challenge by Jones on the left on Mitchell who dived after the ball had gone was given.Mitchell got up and took the penalty giving Sampford no chance to save.

Justice was done on 85mins when substitute Munson was on hand to ram the ball home from 10yds out as it came out from the right corner. Maguire came on for Hurley on 85mins, as Sandhurst tried to run out the time Annable was lucky not to be cautioned has two Clifton players came towards him, he threw himself in the air before they arrived, making the crowd laugh and himself blush. In the 96th minute the ref looked like he was going to blow for time twice but the second time he gave a free kick on the right resulting in Bee curling it into the corner.Sandhurst were devastated and did not even have time to restart the game. 22.1.05 Magdala Amateurs 1-2 Sandhurst (NSL Senior Division)

After a poor sequence of results over Christmas Sandhurst got back to winning ways, Wilson and Atkinson were causing problems to the home sides defence and on twenty minutes Sandhurst broke the dead lock, good work from Sampford on the right found Atkinson who squared across to Wilson to smash the ball into the bottom right corner.Within 5 mins it was two nil, a Solomon corner from the right was not dealt with by Rooke in the Magdala goals and Annable was there to knock it in. has they went in for the break Sandhurst were disappointed of not being further in front after dominating the first half.

As the second half kicked off Magdala came out all guns blazing and for the first period were camped in Sandhurst's half but on 65mins Wilson nearly made it three nil has he skipped passed two defenders he unleashed a shot from 30yds which was tipped over by Rooke in the Magdala goal. With 7mins added on Wilson, Messner, and Sampford were replaced  by Smith,Munson and Making his debut Hurley for sandhurst as they tried to run out time. With the score standing at 0-2 sandhurst would have leapfrogged over there opponents but in the fourth minute of injury time a corner from Robinson from the left, Smalley in goal with no pressure came out fly catching and punched the ball into his own net, having played well for the rest of the game. 11.12.04 Sandhurst 3-1 Siemans EWS (NSL Senior Division)

Sandhurst carried on from where they left off last week, and with Wilson and Mason back from injury, they should of been 2 goals up in the first 12mins. Huddart on 8mins with a 12yard lob with the visitors keeper just watching the ball going inches wide, also Atkinson on 12mins shooting straight into the keepers arms from 8yards out.On 25mins the deadlock was broken when for the second week running a Soloman corner was headed in by Annable at the far post, 3mins later Sandhurst went 2 up, Wilson and Atkinson combined well together with Atkinson 12yards out he buried his shot into the bottom left corner. On 35mins Soloman got in on the act as the ball was headed out to the edge of the box he riffled his shot into the bottom corner to make it 3 - 0, with Sandhurst oozing with confidence Wilson on 41mins thought he had made it 4 - 0 after rounding the keeper and knocking it in but was deemed to be off side. Siemans were glad of the break, Sandhurst rested Wilson with Munson starting in his place in the second half, but within 2mins Siemans had a great chance to get back into the game when Huddart was penalised for a push on Hopkins, Bradshaw stepped up to take it but Smalley pulled off a great save pushing the ball round at the foot of the post, another penalty save to his collection. On 55mins  Hopkins beat the offside trap and nipped in to make it 3 - 1, Huddart and Atkinson were replaced  by Bellis and Smith has Sandhurst got everyone behind the ball and held on for their second home win on the bounce. Stuart Soloman Man of the Match. (Steff Hall Sandhurst)

27.11.04 Awsworth Villa 2-0 Sandhurst (NSL Senior Division)

After last weeks win Sandhurst were hoping to extend a five point gap from the bottom club Awsworth, but they put in there worst performance of the season, and did not deserve anything from the game. The day started badly with Mason & Duffy withdrawing after the pre match warm up,and with Wilson out for a couple of weeks some reshuffling of the team had  to be done.Has early as the 8th minute Sandhurst were a goal down,Blake crossed from the right only for Lobley to slide the ball into his own net, Sandhurst should of drawn level on the half hour, good work from Annable on the right has he cut into the box he nutmeged Harrison and squared the ball to Atkinson whose shot beat the keeper but hit the chest of Keetley to go for a corner.Within 5mins Awsworth went two up Stevenson put Jones under pressure, the ball coming off his shins and into the net,for the last quarter of the game Messner came on for Munson, both keepers were never troubled as Awsworth battled for every ball and were worthy winners on the day. 20.11.04 Sandhurst 2-1 Keyworth United (NSL Senior Division)

For the second time this season Sandhurst had a full squad to pick from, with Wilson,Gill & Mason back for selection, but it was the visitors who started the better, Heath on the left and Benett on the right were causing problems.Smalley had to be at his best on 8mins from a good shot from Shaw, and a fine header from Benett on 12mins was also saved well,on 20mins Heath  curled in a cross whish Shaw crashed against the bar with Smalley beaten. This eventually got a response from the home side, Wilson cut it in from the right only for Atkinson to be inches away from making it one nil.On 35mins Benett put in a low cross, Lobley looked to have cleared it for the home side but Heath nipped in and was brought down with linesman signalling a penalty,Benett stepped up and put it to the right of the keeper with the keeper just failing to keep it out with a good hand on it. On 43mins Sandhurst were level with good work from both front men Atkinson & Wilson, as Wilson cut in from the right he was flattened by Reid, penalty given, Mason made no mistake from the spot, smashing it into the top left corner, leaving the sides to go in level at half time.On 48mins Atkinson collected the ball in is own half, looked up and curled the ball down the left side for Wilson to run onto, he left the Keyworth defence standing and as the advancing keeper came out he slotted the ball into the bottom corner. On 55mins Sandhurst should have had a third Soloman sent Wilson away again as he approached the area Mason was waiting with the goal at his mercy but Wilson shot and the keeper pushed it round the post. On 70mins the game was held up for 7mins with Miller the Keyworth fullback being treated for a deep cut to the right leg, on 78mins Wilson broke away but pulled up with a damaged  hamstring  and was replaced by Duffy, within a minute Atkinson collided with the keeper and came off with knee damage to replaced by Gill who helped see out the game for a well deserved win.
