NSL CUP COMPETITIONS - RULES AS FROM SEASON 22/23
Rule 24. LEAGUE CUP COMPETITIONS

a) All NSL League Cup Competitions shall be played in FULL accordance with the Notts FA County Cup Rules and Regulations unless stated to the contrary within this Rule.
b) There shall be up to four League Cup Competitions each Season starting in September – Senior, Intermediate, Junior and Development. Each team shall play in at least one of the League’s Cup Competitions as directed by the Management Committee.
c) Cup draws shall be made via The FA Full Time software system or at any official League Meeting as determined by the Cup/Fixture Secretary.
d) Referees and Assistant Referees shall be paid in accordance with the Fees Tariff. Payments shall be made by the home team before/immediately after the game. Referees and Assistant Referees in finals shall receive awards only.
e) ALL League Cup matches MUST be played on the appointed date (weather permitting). Teams failing to do so will be removed from the Competition.
f) Kick off times will be decided by the Cup/Fixture Secretary and may not be changed without the permission of the Cup/Fixture Secretary. Any team wishing to change a kick-off time must apply to the League in writing and have prior agreement from both the opposition and Match Official(s).
g) Any League Cup match that is postponed MUST be played the following Saturday, unless otherwise determined by the Cup/Fixture Secretary.
h) Teams are allowed to use 3 substitute Players in any Cup Competition match who may be selected from 5 Players named and submitted to the match referee not later than 30 minutes before the start of the game. Substitutes not named will NOT be permitted to take part. A named substitute who does not play is not cup-tied.
i) If the scores are level after 90 minutes play, 30 minutes of extra time will be played. If at the end of extra time the scores remain level, a series of kicks from the penalty mark will be taken to determine the result of the match.
j) Both teams must complete match details on Full Time for all Cup Competition games, including semi-final and final ties.
k) Semi-final and final ties may be played mid-week or on a Saturday on a ground as directed by the League Management Committee. A minimum of three Match Officials will be appointed to each game. The costs of staging the semi-finals will be shared by the participating teams. All costs associated with the final(s) will be met by the League who may administer an admission charge at the game.
l) Qualification of players:
(i) All Players must have been registered by the Club by 8pm on the Friday immediately prior to the date of the match for Saturday games and by 2pm on the day of the match for night games. For semi-final and final ties, the player must have been registered in accordance with this rule before the original date of the previous round (i.e., a player must be
registered by 8pm the day prior to the original date of the quarter-final to be eligible for the semi-final, and registered by 8pm the day prior to the original date of the semi-final to be eligible for the final). However, a player may also be eligible for the semi-final if they have played a minimum of three bona-fide fixtures (excluding friendlies and abandoned fixtures) for the competing team but was not registered as set out in the preceding paragraph for the original quarterfinal tie. This also applies to the final in that if a player was not registered as set out in the preceding paragraph, they may be eligible if they have played three bona-fide fixtures for the competing team.
Dual registered players will not be allowed to play in semi-final or final ties unless they have played in two previous rounds or four bona-fide fixtures for the competing team prior to the original date of the fixture.
(ii) A Player may be permitted to play in a more Senior Cup Competition in a higher League, but having done so, will NOT then be eligible to play in any NSL League Cup Competition. This applies to substitutes only if they have taken an active part in the match.
(iii) A player may be permitted to play in a more senior NSL Cup Competition, but having done so, will NOT then be permitted to play in any lower ranked NSL Cup Competition. This applies to substitutes only if they have taken an active part in the match.
(iv) No Player shall play for more than ONE team in the same Competition during the same Season.
(v) Any team proved to have fielded an ineligible Player will be removed from the Competition.
(vi) It is the Clubs’ full responsibility to check the eligibility of Players.
m) The Management Committee reserve the right to remove (a) team(s) from the Cup Competition where evidence has proved that the conduct of such team or teams is detrimental to the required standard and has (or could have) brought the Competition into disrepute.
n) Any decision made by the Management Committee relating to the control of the Cup Competition shall be binding. There are no grounds for appeal to the NSL Management Committee or the Nottinghamshire FA.
