SENIOR DIVISION

The Nottinghamshire Senior League Senior Division consists of 17 teams each playing each other twice (home and away). Three points for a win, one for a draw, the team with the most points at the end of the season will be crowned champions.

In the case of two or more sides level on points in the division, the team(s) with the best goal difference will be placed higher, if  these are the same, the team(s) with the most amount of goals scored will be placed highest.

The team that finishes bottom of the division will be relegated to the First Division, subject to the committee vote.

In the Leagues brief history Wollaton were crowned overwhelming champions in the NSL's debut campaign back in 2004/05, wrapping up the title by the start of April they were comfortable victors, ten points a drift of their nearest challengers Linby. Wollaton repeated their success the following year in a much tighter fight with Clifton. A scoreless draw in their final game against Attenborough was enough to win the league by just a single point over the All Whites who had set a record of eighteen games unbeaten. Wollaton's early dominance ended in 2006/07 with Cotgrave comfortably winning the title. Caribbean Cavaliers who finished second though might have ran them closer but for a poor start to the campaign. Cav's performance in the second half of the season saw them lose only once in fifteen games. 2007/08 saw Cav's continue their impressive form, dominating a strong competitive league, eventually winning the title by fourteen points over nearest rivals Keyworth, smashing Clifton's unbeaten record by staying undefeated for the final 25 games of the campaign, the side also won their final 12 games of the season. Bilborough Pelican had there turn in what was many peoples finest NSL campaign to date. Pelican needing to win there final game of the season against Notts Police who joined Awsworth Villa in the bottom two relegation spots but unlike Villa survived relegation to Diviision One. Boots Athletic finished a close second after pipping the likes of Basford United and Wollaton who were also challenging for the championship. In the 2009/10 campaign it was Clifton FC who became the competitions fifth different winners in as many years. The leagues most consistent side over ten months saw off their nearest rivals Basford United by five points. A year later Basford would come second and Clifton third to overwhelming champions Boots Athletic, who for the first time in NSL history not only became the sixth team to take the Senior Division title but also became only the third team to win the league and league cup double. At the other end it was Linby CW who finished bottom with a low total of seven points from 30 games. Forest Town, who joined the league at the start of the year, like Newark Flowserve a season before them, disbanded prior to the season midway point.
