Cotgrave FC were formed in 1946, playing in the South Notts Realm league and the Notts & District League, the opening of their Colliery in 1968 meant an eventual amalgamation between the Welfare side and the original set up in 1983. After changing their name to Cotgrave United they also moved into their present home at Woodview. Over twenty years since, including spells in three different league associations and three name changes later, (including latterly Cotgrave Colliery Welfare United) Cotgrave Welfare FC have four senior teams, two becoming founder members of the NSL, with the clubs first team winning the Senior League title in 2006/07. |
