Other former clubs to feature in the NSL include Burton Joyce, a founder member of the league in 2004 who disbanded before that years campaign got underway. Arnold Kingswell, another founder member of the league, also disbanding in 2004, six games in to their debut season, Bestwood MW who disbanded in 2007 after three mid to lower table finishes in the Senior Division, Siemens Football Club who disbanded at the end of the 2007/08 campaign and Stanton Ilkeston, who after entering the league as Second Division founder members in 2008, disbanded before a ball had been kicked that campaign. Greenwood Meadows Reserves spent two seasons in the First Division before leaving the league at the end of the 2009/10 campaign. In the same year Bottesford also left the league after two years in Division Two.
Four founder member clubs have changed their names since playing in the NSL, Cotgrave Welfare FC dropped the 'United' title which followed their name and exchanged the CW tag for Welfare in 2007, Gedling Southbank, who changed from Arnold Southbank after merging with a local youth set up, Siemens FC (who dropped the EWS which followed their title) both changed their names for the start of the 2006/07 season and Ruddington Village, who changed a long tradition of being United after a merger with another local set up in 2008.

Two other sides have also changed there names since playing in the NSL, Caribbean Cavaliers changed there name to FC Cavaliers and Bilborough Town changed there name to Chilwell Town in 2010.
