Vernon Villa were formed in 1992 and immediately were entered in to the Premier Division of the Notts Amateur League. in the 1996/97 season, the club won it's first piece of silverware after winning the Notts Amateur Senior Cup, a trophy they would retain for a further three years in a spell that including a league title in 1998. A fifth Notts Amateur Cup was won in 2003 before the club became founder members of the merged Notts Amateur Alliance, winning the League's Senior Cup in 2007 before joining the NSL Second Division in 2009.
